Chocolate Brown & Sky Blue Antique Bakshaish Rug – The Azure Heritage – Circa 1930s – 6’4” x 8’3”

The Azure Heritage is a captivating antique Bakshaish rug dating to the 1930s, distinguished by its rich chocolate-brown foundation, delicate sky-blue detailing, and beautifully balanced geometric and floral composition.

At the heart of the design lies an intricate diamond-shaped medallion, surrounded by an expansive network of flowing botanical motifs and stylized floral elements. Soft shades of powder blue, muted turquoise, warm ivory, and dusty rose create a striking contrast against the deep brown field, lending the rug a sophisticated yet inviting character.

The composition is framed by an elaborate floral border, where graceful ivory vines intertwine with subtle blue and rose accents. A wide chocolate-brown outer border provides a beautiful finishing touch, enhancing the rug’s visual depth and architectural presence.

Reflecting the distinctive artistic traditions of Bakshaish weaving, this antique piece offers an appealing combination of expressive ornamentation, intricate detailing, and timeless decorative beauty. Its unusual color palette brings a fresh perspective to a classic design, allowing it to complement both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Measuring 6’4” x 8’3”, The Azure Heritage is ideally suited for an elegant living room, sophisticated study, intimate sitting area, or thoughtfully curated bedroom. Its earthy brown tones pair beautifully with walnut and oak furnishings, while the soft blue accents introduce a sense of lightness and refinement.

With nearly a century of history, The Azure Heritage is more than a decorative rug — it is a distinctive antique piece that brings character, warmth, and enduring elegance to the spaces it inhabits.
